Junxure Tips and Tricks

How do I get the date and time stamp to appear in my actions?
For version 6: This feature is automatic and cannot be turned on or off.
For version 7: Use the keyboard shortcut "CtrlJ" to add a date/time stamp "on the fly" to any action detail box. This command also adds the logged-on user's initials.

If you want Junxure to automatically populate the date and time stamp "notes" box, whenever you initiate an action, you make an option selection in the actual action template. To modify an existing action template or to create a new action template go to System Set Up > List Data Maintenance > Action Templates.  Check the Append Time Stamp box in the template to turn the timestamp feature on.

Is there a spell check feature in Junxure?
For version 6: Press F7 to check your spelling for any of your text entries.
For version 7: Right click your mouse in either the action note, action description or follow-up action box to access the spell check feature.

How can I change how often the Junxure pop-up alert appears?

1. From the Maintain System menu, select System Options.

2. Next, from the Local Options tab, select category of Behavior, then select Alert Frequency.

Version 6 Screen Shot

3. Now, from the drop down menu choose an alert frequency value. The default for this is 15 minutes, but you can set it to 0 minutes and your alerts will be paused until you set it back to a value greater than 0. Alert frequency can be set anywhere between 0 and 120 minutes.  We don't recommend you pause your alerts because you would lose a valuable benefit of the program - if you choose to pause your alerts, you may miss important new actions assigned to you.  WARNING: In Version 6 (only) The timing of the alerts effects how often Junxure checks your email.  If you pause your alerts, you also pause your emails.

How do I choose a "blank" field after I've selected something?
If you'd like to select nothing in dropdown field that currently has a value, select the drop down by clicking on it and press the Escape Key (Esc).

Keep Everyone in the Loop: FYIs

Practice Management Tip:  Use FYIs rather than sending an internal email! The Junxure FYI feature is the easiest and most efficient way to keep everyone in the office in the loop on important actions revolving around your clients or other contacts in your database. Unfortunately, many Junxure users still use internal emails to inform others. It is important to get in the habit of using the FYI feature built into Junxure instead. In this way:  1) You can maintain a historical record of everything you do revolving around your contacts in one location.  2) Other users can easily check to see who was informed about an action and who was not.  3) Users can be alerted if they receive an FYI and you will be able to tell if they actually got the FYI.  See our video on Alerts & FYIs for more details.

You can only assign an action to one person in your office; however you can FYI as many people in the office as you want. If you work on a team, this is a great way to keep everyone on the team in the loop.  This can also be an important step to building trust and loyalty in any client relationship, as the client may notice that everyone in the office provides the same level of concern and attention and seems to "magically" be aware of the smallest details. Little does the client know that the FYI feature is at work.

Here is an example of how you could use the FYI feature:

Example: You (the advisor) are on the phone with the client and during the conversation, since you are a great client service "sleuth";  you learn that his wife, Sally, will be having surgery next week.  You then create an action and record that you intend to send Sally flowers and a card.  You also FYI the other members of the advisor team and the administrative staff, to let them know about the surgery and that you are sending flowers and a card.  Next time the client comes in or calls, the advisor team will all to know to ask how Sally is doing.

“We use FYIs so that everyone in the office – on both the admin team and the planner team – is up to speed on all client activities. It helps all of us learn about the clients and the services we provide to them (since we’ll often include information about their likes/dislikes, families, trips, etc as well as detailed descriptions of the services we providing them in our Actions) ….New employees can get up to speed quickly on the client database simply by reading the FYIs.”

I Had No Idea that Feature Existed: Reminder Alerts

This feature enables you to get an Action Alert at a designated time (scheduling it minutes, hours or days away) as a reminder at an appropriate time.  Think of it as an action alarm clock where you determine when the “alarm” goes off.

Example:  You need to contact a client to schedule their quarterly review appointment. When you speak to the client, he tells you to call back tomorrow, as he needs to check with his wife about their availability. You can record a note in the action follow-up box that you spoke to the client and that you need to call back the next day. (Practice Management Tip: Make sure you record your initials and date after your note - see Junxure Tips and Tricks) Then simply select the reminder button at the top of the action detail window and select when you want a reminder alert to let you know you need to follow-up. This type of alert will show up in your alerts as a Flagged Item Alert.

Note: Version 7 screen shot shown.  This screen view will appear differently in Version 6.
