Junxure News, Training & Tips - October 2009 In This Issue:
Showcasing Junxure 8 & Junxure Mobile Attendees at the recent Schwab Impact Conference in San Diego who visited the Junxure booth were among the first to see the capabilities of the new Junxure Mobile and Junxure version 8 first hand. Among the most popular new features were Junxure Check-up, the Business Development Dashboard and the Prospecting Opportunities Dashboard. If you will be in Anaheim for the FPA conference, you will find us at Booth 404 and at the Junxure User’s Group and CRM Best Practices special session hosted by Greg Friedman, MS, CFP® on Monday, October 12th from 1pm to 2pm in Meeting Room 206A. To read more about the upcoming release click here.
If a picture added to a contact record (in the contact info tab) appears distorted, use the Resize Photos Tool. For example, if your photo was taken in a Landscape orientation it may appear distorted as the photo in the contact record appears in a Portrait orientation. The Resize Photos Tool adjusts the photo so that it will display without distortion in Portrait mode.
Before you run this tool, we suggest that you back up the original photo files so that you have the ability to restore photos if you do not like the results of the resizing. To access the photo resize feature go to Database Tools -> Data Cleanup/Correction -> Resize client photos to prevent distortion. ![]() If a file security warning dialog appears, either select ‘run’, or uncheck ‘always ask before opening this file’ and then select ‘run’. The Photo Resize window will now open and you can process as many picture files as you like that are in the Contact Info tab of each contact record. After processing, the file(s) will be resized to eliminate distortion.
For information on how to add a photo to a contact record on the Contact Info Tab go to: Contact Info Tab - Updating Fields. ![]()
Great tips don’t always come from our Solutions Group or Technical Support Team. Many of our Junxure offices utilize the User to User Forum to gain insight into how other offices use the program. This month we are presenting a tip from one of our Junxure Offices about Hidden Actions. Junxure Office1: “I hit the Hide Action Button by mistake and am not sure how to reverse that? What happens to the action when this is clicked and how can I 'unhide' the action?” Junxure Office2: “On the top bar next to View Folders is a Magic Black Hat. Click on that and all the actions that you have hidden will magically appear. ![]() Just open the action and close it normally and it won't be hidden. By the way it is OK to have [actions] hidden; everyone can [still] see them. I use this for things that I HAVE to finish before I go home. Then at the end of the day I look up the hidden ones to make sure I was able to catch everything before I was interrupted.” Junxure Solutions Group: To Hide an Action, select the Hide Action button from the top of any Edit Action Window. However, it is best practice to not have any hidden actions when you leave your office for the day. So as “Junxure Office2” does, make sure to check your hidden actions before you go home. ![]()
Action Sequences are one of the most powerful advanced features in Junxure. Action Sequences are a set of pre-defined, pre-assigned, action steps related to a specific procedure. An action sequence will assign all of the actions identified in the sequence (either dependent or non-dependent) to the appropriate associates, providing consistent and accurate application of your procedure. ![]() Our Junxure Solutions Group has come up with a list of 8 Simple Steps to Success - to help you get up and running with action sequences. 1. Have your entire office review the Action Sequence video so that they understand how Action Sequences work. Click to view the video. 2. Review the existing procedures in your office to identify possible action sequences. These procedures may exist in a written procedures manual, an excel or word document, or maybe they are just stored in your memory. 3. Build an Action Sequence ‘Map’ to visually work out and discuss the proposed action sequence steps. Make sure you get input from all employees involved in each procedure that will be built as an action sequence. 4. Start by building a few simple action sequences. Examples might be your procedure for changing an address or preparing for a meeting. Try to keep these simple action sequences to no more than 6-8 action steps to begin with. 5. Decide what the “Trigger” is for each action sequence. A “Trigger” is defined as the event that tells someone when it is time to initiate a specific action sequence. For example: Joan receives a call to change an address. The call to change the address is the “Trigger”. Joan will then add the “Address Change” action sequence to that client’s contact record. 6. Do a ‘Test Run’ of your Sequences using a sample or test contact record. Discuss results and any issues with your Test Run. 7. Modify the actions sequences according to the results of the test run and test again, if necessary. 8. Train appropriate staff members on when and how to use your actions sequences. Congratulations on creating your successful Action Sequences. What’s Next?
The Secret is Out – Your Silver Bullet We all expect our software technology investments to pay off in efficiency and simplification of complex business processes. On the road to transforming your business, however, are dozens of software choices for everything from performance reporting and document management to financial planning and form filling. Each selection can be critical to the success of your business, but if these programs don’t “talk to each other”, that is interface or sync together effectively, then technology leads to a costly dead end. Because of this, Your Silver Bullet was born. The member companies of the YSB community have joined together in their commitment to make their software “play well together” by eliminating multiple data entry and system incompatibility. Your Silver Bullet is NOT a platform, NOT a product, NOT a pre-packed suite of applications and NOT a consulting organization.
